On an October afternoon, the Empress makes her way east through the Thompson Canyon towards her final destination for the evening in Kamloops. The west coast was spoiled in 2008, as 2816 would make a number of different runs around British Columbia's Lower Mainland in the summertime to help celebrate BC's 150th Birthday. She would then return in the fall and pull a VIA consist between Vancouver and Mission in support of the Easter Seals. The next day she would leave the west coast, and she hasn't returned since. It's hard to believe that was already 7 years ago, and I wonder if she'll ever return.
