An unusual array of crossing protection halts traffic on the Hamburg Turnpike as the SU-99 works upgrade with three units for power. While the lead unit on this SU-99 was nothing special at the time, the trailing units were two of the railroads three SD70M's which recently returned from a 10 year lease. The units only served the NYS&W for a few months before being sidelined for years as they needed a major overhaul which the railroad did not see as practical. Short on power, Norfolk Southern started buying second-hand EMD's in 2014 to supplement their existing fleet of locomotives, the three NYS&W SD70M's became part of NS's acquisitions and now see regular road service across the system. While it's unfortunate that these units no longer wear yellow and black, I'm personally happy to see them running again, thus saving these units from the scrappers torch.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
