DMIR SD9 no. 130, one of two boiler equipped units on the railroad leads an empty ore drag from the Duluth docks into Proctor Yard. Showing off the freshly re-painted Arrowhead scheme, these 20 year old units have no trouble handling a string of antique Soo Line ore jennies up the hill. In the days of raw ore, it was common for the Duluth area railroads to interchange their ore cars to mix ores in the docks to steel mill specifications. Life is much more efficient today with the handling of taconite pellets.
