Remarks & Notes |
The new RTD Commuter Rail passenger cars made an overnight stop at Denver’s Union Station. The Eagle P3 cars are made by Hyundai Rotem USA. They will seat 90 passengers with a maximum capacity of 233 passengers (and I assume that comes with an officially titled "Passenger Arrangement Staff" or ‘Pushers’ as they are known in Japan, whose job it is to push as many people as possible into a passenger car). The 85 foot long sleek stainless steel cars have a top speed of 79 MPH and operate off 25,000 volts via an overhead catenary structure. In contrast, the normal light rail cars use 250 volts. |
