During the first half of 2015, H&MC acquired two 1970s-vintage GE units, a marked shift from the EMD switchers which previously worked this shortline. The 9554 was built for the L&N and saw service with L&N successors Seaboard System and CSX before being retired, and it eventually found its way to the Southern Appalachia Railway Museum in Oak Ridge, TN. H&MC purchased the locomotive in early 2015 and has repainted it in an interesting orange and black scheme.
