"Amtrak Boards at Beacon" Amtrak passengers board Amtrak 64, the southbound Maple Leaf, at Metro North's Beacon Station, which is not served by Amtrak.
While heading south down the Hudson Line Amtrak 68, the southbound Adirondack, encountered several issues leaving the train dead just north of Beacon. A southbound Metro North deadhead that was running behind 68 ended up having to shove the train south into Beacon Station to allow passengers to exit the train. Time progressed with no luck restarting the engine so Amtrak 64, which runs an hour behind 68, was instructed to make a station stop at Beacon to pick up the stranded passengers (What you see in the photo). In the end, the engineer was actually able to start up the engine and 68's train ran as a deadhead south to NYP.
