After working what seemed to be an endless 10 hour job, I couldn’t wait to go home, only to realize that an Amtrak hadn't passed by. So I ventured out to the Pass, hiked to a favorite location of mine, and waited. Featured here, lighting up an otherwise moonlit night, Amtrak’s Chicago bound Southwest Chief #4 negotiates the twists and turns of Glorieta Pass. After getting caught up in the aftermath of a BNSF derailment in western New Mexico; the train is running approximately 7 hours behind schedule as it makes an unusual nighttime appearance on what is almost always a daytime setting.
