An observant couple, wearing the bell-bottom style pants of the day, is waiting on the next southbound train as a northbound Metroliner kicks up a dust storm. Car 887 was built by Budd with GE equipment, as evidenced by its single-arm Faiveley pantograph. (Cars with Westinghouse equipment were equipped with diamond-shaped Stemmann pantographs, as seen on the 3rd car.) The 2nd car has been rebuilt, by moving the dynamic braking grids and other equipment to the cooler and cleaner roof area, out of the dust stream.
