Nickel Plate #765 ducks under a former CNJ signal bridge just ahead of Reading & Northern's Penobscot yard while on excursion from Pittstown Junction to Allentown, PA. This was the first of two excursions which operated over the weekend by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, in cooperation with the Reading & Northern and Norfolk Southern. Just my (our) luck, the Sun had just ducked behind the clouds, as well.
Originally organized in the 1980's, the R&N is now one of the most active regional railroads in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Regular home of several steam locomotives, including #425 and CNJ #113
