Endless reflecting pools. Just half a mile or so from an arrival in the tiny Oregon town of Sumpter, the SVRy's Mikado #19 hauls an early afternoon mixed train north through the Powder River Valley.
The heavy dredging of the Powder River over half a century ago left the landscape covered with many gravel pits, which, over time, have filled with water, forming permanent ponds. There are reflection shots everywhere on this line.
