"Chopped"
While on sort of a pilgrimage to visit the restored Raritan River Rail Road boxcar #100, East Penn's EPRY 57 (Alco RS-1) was parked along the Front Street. It seems to have seen better days and with the pilot missing on one end, one wonders it's fate.
If anyone has additional information on the future plans for this engine, it would be great to know. Also, if someone knows the name of the line that the East Penn runs on, I can update the info for this photo.
UPDATE: I was contacted privately about the future of EPRY 57. "East Penn RS-1 #57 will be repaired, moved to a new home, and restored to operating condition in the near future."
Happy to hear there are still some miles yet to be traveled by #57.
