The Jersey Central’s Phillipsburg service usually consisted of GP40P’s with conventional coaches for rush hour trains, but mid-day turns to Phillipsburg sometimes appeared with RDC’s. Here, sporting the heralds of both the CNJ and the NJDOT, RDC1’s 556 and 560 lay over in Phillipsburg. Both cars exist today, owned by the United Railroads Historical Society and the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, respectively.
