An Amtrak long distance train, led by a then in service HHP-8, departs Philadelphia, southbound for Washington DC and points south. These locomotive's original type designation was "HHL-8" for HighHorsepower Locomotive - 8,000 horsepower. Rumor has it, management changed the name to HHP-8 after it was heard some employees were substituting the "L" for "Lousy". Amtrak's HHP-8's suffered from low reliability and as a result, the fleet of 15 had been retired by Amtrak within 15 years, the last motor retired (by Amtrak) on November 7, 2014.
