Ab 608 steams through Tawa with a special from Wellington marking 100 years since ANZAC Day was first observed. 608 was built by NZR Addington in 1915 and dedicated as a war memorial in 1925 for over 400 railwaymen who didn't come back from the trenches of WW1. Since 1916 ANZAC Day honors our war veterans in Australia and New Zealand.
