This weekend, the Catskill Mountain Railroad played host to Viscose #6, seen here passing her own advertisement. In spite of less-than-ideal weather conditions on Saturday, the event was a great success, and highlighted the railroad's importance as a major tourist attraction in Ulster County. Nevertheless, the threat to the operation's future is very real. The railroad's lease will expire on May 31, and unless pleas from the public are successful, the County will likely seek to tear up the line in favor of a trail through the area.
