The 2102 is leaving Leesport with an awesome display of smoke and steam, for a trip to Tamaqua. This is the last time that I chased a T-1, and I hope to see this engine running again next year. Originally built as RDG 2-8-0 No. 2022 by Baldwin in 1923, the engine was rebuilt by the Reading in 1945 to its present 4-8-4 wheel arrangement. It was first retired in 1956, steamed up in 1962 for the famous "Iron Horse Rambles," and pulled the last "Ramble" with sister No. 2100 in 1964. After various owners, it was last acquired by the Blue Mountain and Reading in 1985 and ran regularly through 1991.
