"Show ponies through the horse capital"
NS 951, the Norfolk Southern executive train is keeping a steady pace under the power of 4 veteran EMD F units. While not their first trip on the CNO&TP, they also aren't the first cab units to run the line. Before NS, Southern Railway's first generation diesels stampeded this section of the CNO&TP better known as "The Rathole". Before the cut pictured here at Kings Mountain came to existance, the line had undergone a massive renovation in 1963, blasting around most of the tunnels with the exception of 2 in which The Rathole got it's name, 1 of the original tunnels rests just to the left of this picture.
