The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad No. 1702 during the engine's first trip into the Nantahala Gorge since 2004.The locomotive was welcomed with warm smiles and waves from the rafters in the Nantahala river. This trip was exactly one week after the locomotive was first scheduled to pull the Nantahala Gorge train, but everyone was excited nonetheless. The engine will be operating on these trips until November when it will be stored for the winter.
