With the sunlight fading fast behind a thin layer of clouds and the surrounding mountains, the beastly sound of General Electric locomotives working hard begins to sound closer, and closer. Soon, you hear the sound of horn whaling for the crossing at Williams Jct.; then headlights and exhaust smoke appear. BNSF 8000 East charges hard, with three other locomotives, to pull a high priority Los Angeles, CA to Memphis, TN Fedex train over the Arizona Divide. As the locomotives rumble by, you're left in a cloud of diesel exhaust; a foamer's delight!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
