Several days ago I got an inside heads up that Q211-15 was a few days away from Columbia, SC with CSX 8443 and 8717 for power - a fantastic EMD duo. However, as many people know, the CSX computer isn't always correct when they list the order of the power... But I didn't think anything of it, so when myself and another local Columbia railfan Alex set up in Columbia for their arrival, we were all ready to shoot a CSX SD40-2 leader...
But Q211 approached off in the distance, and I was looking through my telephoto lens I noticed something - a pair of fully exposed marker lights. Usually, when the computer has the power in the wrong order it is a letdown, but not in this case as a very rare leader on CSX made for quite the surprise. Here Q211 splits up some of their cars in Cayce Yard, before continuing down to the autoramp a few miles south of here.
