Henry Hobson Richardson is most known by fans of the Boston & Albany Railroad, where he designed many of the stations along the line, however he and his successors also designed stations for the New York Central, and the New York, New Haven, and Hartford, among others. New London, completed 1887, was Richardson's last train station and was finished one year after his early death at 47 from kidney disease.
