The Iowa Northern's North Crew is just pulling into Manly. Manly is the end of the line on the north end of the railroad. The crew will interchange cars with the Union Pacific before heading back south. The Manly Park has an old Rock Island Caboose on display, which is the heritage of the trackage in this area. When the Iowa Northern was bought by Iron Road Railway (IRR) in 1994, some of their power also came to the property. These units for sister companies BAR and CDAC were rebuilt at National Railway at Silvis. Then the units were tested on a power short Iowa Northern property to have the bugs worked out before being shipped out east. The 365 was rebuilt from BAR 84, and the information now shows it sold to WATCO and is the WAMX 3836.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
