When Conrail SD80MACs were new, they were often assigned to trains OIPI and PIOI which traversed the Lehigh Line enroute between Conway Yard (Pittsburgh, PA) and Oak Island Yard (Newark, NJ). Under NS control, these units are no longer frequent visitors to New Jersey. So on this frigid late-winter morning it was a treat to see a former Conrail SD80MAC leading a train east on the Lehigh. NS 7226 is ex-CR 4124. This particular unit came to NS via CSX where it was initially given the number 810 and later renumbered as 4600.
