CP/D&H Train 557 gets out of Binghamton, New York on a nice late December day. Binghamton had an unbroken string of Alco-design diesels leading road trains, starting with the Erie/DL&W/EL and the D&H, later continued by the NYS&W, and ending when the CP finally ended the string in the mid-1990’s. It’s no wonder that the Southern Tier town was the destination for so many railfan weekends.
