Making its debut run in fresh orange Genesee & Wyoming paint, New England Central Railroad SD40-2 (SD45 carbody) 3475 leads the NECR SD40T-2 3317 past the Central Vermont Randolph, Vermont, depot. NECR 3475 was previously the NECR 2680 and prior to that, CEFX 2680. It was originally built as Seaboard Coast Line 2027, becoming Seaboard System 2027 and then 8927, before being sold to VMV and wearing VMVX 8927. It would be one of the units sent to Mountain Top, PA as part of the big Southern Pacific rebuilding program and wear SP 8604 until being absorbed by Union Pacific as their 2680. The unit was financed under Rail America and fully acquired by G&W on April 17.
