A warm late afternoon in the Antelope Valley along Metrolink's Valley Subdivision finds the F125 test train with SCAX 905 tied down in the set-out track near the Vincent Grade/Acton station. For the next few weeks these new units will be testing after hours before finally entering revenue service. It's no F7 but I think they aren't all that bad looking compared to an F59PHI or the Siemens SC-44 Charger. Only time will tell how reliable they end up being!
Tier IV locomotives are the safest, cleanest, and most fuel efficient locomotives on the rails today. Unfortunately, most of them are ugly and are as quiet as an ACS-64.
