Hungary's only cogwheel tram, line No. 260, marked as BKV tram line 60. It' a 3,7km long stretch between Városmajor and Széchenyi-hill, on weekdays its fairly empty, but there're many hikers on weekends, going for a trip to Buda hills. On the photo; EMU #56+66 starts to descend on a foggy xmas morning. I was the only passenger who came up with it, and it left empty. EMUs are made of a motorcar(56) + cabcar (66) consist, always the motor unit facing the valley. BKV ordered 7 of the austrian SGP (Simmering, Graz & Pauker) made EMUs in 1973. The power comes from overhead wire, supplying 1500V DC, gauge is 1435mm with a Strub rack system.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
