Now under mostly sunny skies after a morning of rain, the "2017 UP Museum Special" heads back to Omaha on the UP Columbus Sub. on the inbound leg of its round trip running as UP Train PCBCB1 13. UP front are UP's E9 Cab Units and an SD70ACe for motive power, followed by 15 cars from the business car fleet.
They are passing through a Form B in town on Main Track 2 at 25 MPH, speed restricted by the EIC due to men and equipment working on Track 1. The train's progress was delayed slightly by this slow order, but was made significantly tardy after a freight train pulled a drawbar ahead of them blocking the crossovers near MP 17, finally arriving around 1530, 3 hours late.
This excursion trip was a fundraising event for new and enhanced exhibits at the Union Pacific Railroad Museum in Council Bluffs. It carried passengers on an approximately 164 mile round trip from the Durham Museum at Omaha Union Station to Columbus and back.
