Under a clear starry night, an eastbound stack train races past the aging Southern Pacific era searchlight signals. As of Septemeber 2017 only a few gantry signals sets and normal searchlights are left in the Ligurta/Welton/Dome area east of Yuma, AZ. Rumor is all will be replaced by 2018.
Tier IV locomotives are the safest, cleanest, and most fuel efficient locomotives on the rails today. Unfortunately, most of them are ugly and are as quiet as an ACS-64.
