Volcanic Rock. It's just past high noon as our re-creation RGS Freight with the 455 on the point charges upgrade past an odd formation of ancient volcanic rock. This formation, at around MP 313.6, is the historic location of the old Toltec Creek Section House. A large wooden water tank was also located here, but all traces of railroad structures have been erased by the growth of dense forests of Aspen trees. The rock formation on the left side of the photo does not appear to have a name, but it looks for all the world like the head of a horse. I'm tempted to call it "Crazy Horse Rock."
