Rio Grande Southern #455 storms uphill on it's way to Lizard Head Pass with another heavy freight train. Six cars back, leased D&RGW #315 shoves on the train as it climbs the steep grade.
It reality, this is not a Rio Grande Southern train nor is this engine, RGS 455. Both the RGS and the 455 have been gone since early 1952. But thanks to the efforts of the Cumbres & Toltec and the Friends of the CATS, the Rio Grande Southern lived again for a week in September 2017. This train with both 455 (really C&TS 463) and D&RGW 315 is climbing up to the top of the Whiplash on the way to Osier, CO.
