I'm standing on the Homewood Amtrak station platform, trying my hand at nighttime railroad photography. It's getting late and my belly is full of delicious pizza as a result of a great dinner with old friends from my childhood at our favorite pizza joint, Aurelio's, which is mere steps from this location.
On the left is a train making its way into Markham Yard, which is behind me to the left. In front of me is the old Illinois Central era CTC signal bridge which has been here for many decades.
Looks like another train is approaching!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
