On a very cold morning, -20 degrees, the Fairbanks yard sends a yard job the 15 or so miles to the North Pole to deliver some fuel cars to the former refinery now distribution center. Seen here at MP 12 around 1400 in the afternoon. With sun set at 1530 the sun is just high enough to light the tree tops and not much else.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
