After hauling a load of commuters to Chicago Union Station, Metra F40PH-3 No. 100, specially-wrapped in RTA (Regional Transportation Authority) colors worn during Metra’s formative years, trundles the wash building as it heads to Metra’s coach yard along Canal Street (since CB&Q days, nicknamed the Zephyr Pit) and is passing Taylor Street approaching Roosevelt Road on November 9, 2017.
Motive Power Industries and GMD of Canada have rebuilt the EMD F40PH. These rebuild F40s are slowly fading, but some can be seen in California and Canada.
