This was once triple track, which at some point was reduced to double track and now exists as single track. Even so, 9-12 passenger trains each way per day pass through here in 2017.
Just around the distant bend from this tangent stretch lies well-known Black Rock Cut. [I never did find the path to the cut- surely there must be a path, right?]
