In 1979, I watched Conrail C420 2077, former Lehigh & Hudson River 29, roll westward dead-in-train through East Penn Junction, Pennsylvania. It was leaving the Allentown area for the last time, and I never expected to see it run again. The Delaware & Hudson apparently saw value in the aging Century, and purchased it in 1981. Here it is combined with two rebuilt C424’s, one of 12 former LV C420’s on the D&H roster, and a former Reading GP39-2 at Conklin, New York.
