Aiken Railway's GP30U No. 4202 cools it's heels after a day of work on the SA and AB line. Track speed of 10mph doesn't seem much to some but the motive power gets a workout for sure. Loads of Kaolin clay are pulled from their customer's mine's uphill in No. 8 and then shoving outbound traffic downhill 6 miles to interchange in Dynamic No. 8 with air make this an interesting little operation to work and see operate.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
