Remarks & Notes |
Crossing the Chattooga. Southern Railway Locomotives #630 and 4501 bring their Summerville Special passenger train across the Chattooga River in the town of Trion, GA. This rather interesting combination wood and steel trestle arrangement apparently dates back to the 1880s and is technically a Pratt Through-Truss Bridge. This bridge is a must-do shot for anyone who is out photographing these trains. Running pretty much north-south, it's a nice view from either side regardless of the weather. |
