Approaching Rock Spring. After an entire weekend of clouds and rain, my time photographing the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum's Summerville Special is getting short. The train is northbound approaching the town of Rock Spring, GA and the clouds are beginning to break, giving me a faint hope that I might get perhaps a frame or two with some sun. I have all of about 45 minutes left before I have to depart for Atlanta to make a flight home. I spot an industrial park just off Rte 27 that appears to have a nice, uncluttered view of the doubleheader working upgrade, so I elect to stop. I have all of about 90 seconds to park and frame up the shot. Nope, no sun yet, but perhaps the best light of the weekend so far and well worth stopping.
