Vermont Rail System, for only the second time in a year (and by design) operated an all-red consist that is book-ended by the railproad’s pair of SD70M-2s. Due to bridge restrictions and weight distribution directives, the pair can no longer run back-to-back without a 4-axle loco in between and an empty car on the head pin. The Saturday slurry train was led by VTR SD70M-2s 432 and 431, with CLP GP40-2 306 in the middle. Train is seen at Ludlow, VT with the Okemo Ski Resort in background.
