“Suits on Sand Patch” CSX P908-16 is eastbound at Brackens on CSX’s Main Line Subdivision at 11:21 a.m. on 10/17/1990, while on Track 1 a trailer train climbs the east slope of Sand Patch. The BN/CSX executive special departed Minneapolis the morning of October 16. At Chicago, two CSX Fs were removed, and Burlington Northern’s two freshly outshopped A and B units, BN-1 and BN-2, were added to the head end for the leg to Baltimore. The train departed Chicago at 9 p.m. and ran over CSX’s former B&O main with the two BN units and CSXT 116 and 117 in A-B-A-B configuration.
