| The 17 kilometer long line from Niederglatt to Otelfingen over the Schwenkelberg hill was built in 1877 by the Bülach-Baden-Bahn (daughter of the Schweizerische Nordostbahn NOB) and in 1937 the line was closed for traffic. Today part of the old line from Niederglatt to the fuel depot Mettmenhasli is used as feeder track (rebuilt some years ago and in very good condition). The steamtrain of the DVZO (birthday party train) with locomotive Eb 3/5 # 9 (maffei/Munich 1910) made a visit on the line, which is called "Schipka pass" too. |
