No Rain in California? Fine, We'll Make Our Own. Reenactor San Calderwood, of both Rail Giants and Santa Fe 3751 steam crew fame, gives photographers at the 2018 Rail Giants Train Museum Night Photography Session a chance to step back in time to see what maintenance on a steam locomotive might have looked like in these beasts heyday of operation. As no actual rain clouds were on hand to provide a coating of water on the massive 4-12-2 and foreground for our photos, a garden hose was used and did the job just as well. Mr. Calderwood added to the scene by creating some of his own 'rain' - a shower of sparks as he cut into a piece of scrap metal specifically placed on the 9000's pilot for this scene.
Taking a look at the same train and scene as captured by different photographers. The best way to view will be to sort by photo date so the photos are grouped together.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
