It's just after sunset as Amtrak 11, the southbound Coast Starlight, makes its Simi Valley station stop. This evening finds AMTK 503 on the point of the train that has less than an hour running time before arriving at its final destination of Los Angeles.
Running daily between Seattle and Los Angeles, this train offers running alongside the Pacific Ocean and through the Cascade Mountains. It has been one of Amtrak's long-distance success stories.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
