Sun setting on the season. Although summer will not officially end for more than 20 days, Labor Day weekend always feels like the end of something. But the season that I am referring to is the season of construction that has diverted Amtrak Empire Service to Grand Central Terminal from New York’s Penn Station. On Tuesday, September 4, 2018, all trains will once again run to the west side of Manhattan. In the meantime, today I ventured out to see some more of these runs and took a shot of Train 244 (715, P32AC-DM leading on Saturday, September 1, 2018) rolls through the MTA Metro-North Railroad Marble Hill Station at sunset.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
