Amtrak's westbound Pennsylvanian roars past PARK tower in Parkesburg, PA. The tower sits at what once was the junction of the old PRR Main Line and the Atglen & Susquehanna Branch. A short distance west of this location, the two center freight tracks ducked under the far passenger track, with the two passenger tracks continuing toward Lancaster. Today, the freight line has been abandoned in favor of the NS Harrisburg Line through the Lebanon Valley, and has become a rail-trail, for the most part. Today, the tower remains in service, but as of 1995, as an Amtrak maintenance facility. -Details compliments of Bob Kise.
