CP had 21 Trainmasters, the majority of which spent their lives in the West. In the late 1960's and early 1970's there was always at least one in Montreal, dedicated to transfers between Hochelaga Yard and St. Luc Yard. Their pulling power was well suited for the Hochelaga Hill. The unit is in front of the St. Luc coal chute, which was demolished many years ago. However, inbound trains crews still take their power to "The Coal Chute" for fueling.
