Remarks & Notes |
NKP 765 is heading back east on the former Nickel Plate Road Chicago-Fort Wayne line after being staged in a Hollywood movie scene that was shot in East Chicago Indiana near the oil refinery. The fireman's side of the coal tender was stenciled for the New York Central, as were the passenger cars. The rather mundane looking EJ&E terminal building located near the refinery was temporarily transformed into an ornate NYC passenger station for the movie scene, as well. Supposedly, the producer / director was originally from East Chicago, and I believe the name of the film was "Four Friends". |
