The 1979 Pacific Railroad Society "Mountain Outin" passenger special was run up the steeper south track from Cajon Siding to Cajon Summit, and in the process, pretty much tied up the railroad. The north track had a lot of train stopped to let our train pass. Here a Santa Fe train with an F-45 on the point is stopped, while the brakeman on a helper set with GP-30 3236, watches our train go by. As we approached Cajon Summit, another Santa Fe train was stopped, waiting for us to go through so he could cross over and follow us down the south track towards Barstow. And then stopped on the other side of the crossover was a UP train led by a DD35A. It may of been a bottleneck but everyone on the train taking photos loved it.
