Conrail E10B class unit 4750 stands in the former Niagara Junction yard in Niagara Falls, New York. The 1952 Niagara Junction veteran would soon be retired, only to get a new lease on life working for Metro-North at Grand Central Station until 1998. Several Websites report that the juice was dropped in Niagara falls in January, 1978, but the juice-jacks were active when I visited on Labor Day weekend, 1978. It’s more likely that the electrification ended in January 1979.
